Virtual games & activities for online Christmas parties
So it’s 2020 and you have been asked to find something fun to do online at this year’s virtual Christmas party!
You are not alone.
We have also been looking for fun things to do online at our Christmas party as we have remote employees all over the world. Let’s take a look at some of the options:
Sweet Farm
Although not strictly a game, if you are looking for an out-of-the box and feel good element to add to your virtual Christmas party, why not bring a goat along? (Seriously)
Sweet Farm have a “Goat-to-meeting” option where you can pay to have a farmer join the call and tell you about their farm animal as well as show you around the farm.
Obviously a goat is first prize, but any farm animal would be fun in my book (I am a city slicker, after all).
It is not a main event for an end of year get together but is a will surely be a welcome surprise!
A Christmas Puzzle
An online team problem solving game and a competition, played online, suitable for large groups, and with a Christmas theme - tick, tick, tick.
The Christmas Puzzle is a great game to slot into any online event or get together, as it gets people engaged in a unique way online and will leave people smiling at the end.
It can be self-led with you as the game leader or facilitated if you want to pass the responsibility along to someone else.
The game is played over 40 minutes, but the sessions for the games are normally an hour, including time to brief people on how to play and time to go through the answers and have a laugh at the end.

Christmas Cooking Workshop
Christmas is a great time for baking, whether that be gingerbread biscuits, fruit mince pies or a regular old pudding.
There are a number of different companies offering workshops online where you can learn how to bake a Christmas classic, together!
To make this engaging we recommend buying your employees the ingredients or giving them a shopping list so that they are ready to bake themselves once the class starts!
A Christmas Quiz or Trivia
If you are not tired of online quizzes (we understand if you are) then a Christmas quiz could be a great addition to this year’s virtual Christmas party.
There are plenty of free Christmas-themed quizzes online for a bit of friendly competition.

X-mas Killer: an online Christmas Murder
Game
Haiku Games have some great online adventure games. In the X-mas Killer online game, Detective Kate Gray must stop a serial killer before another victim is murdered! Intriguing right?
A download on ios, android or kindle is needed to get started but you can play as a team and share ideas and work together using a video conferencing platform. Great if you are looking for something free and like escape room-type experiences.
