The Puzzle: online fun for teams

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to disrupt societies across the world, many people are still trying to adjust to a new normal, one in which they are spending an increased amount of time working from home and with less frequent in-person social interaction.

It's as important as ever for people to still have fun together, and until get-togethers are happening in the physical world again, we are relying on virtual touch points to fill that void. By now many people would have tried a quiz or a game of online Pictionary, but finding games that involve deeper thinking, team collaboration and problem solving can be more difficult, at least that's what I have been led to believe based on the enquiries we have been receiving!

Although some teams are looking for the virtual equivalent of traditional in person team building activities and exercises, a lot of people have been asking us for something quicker that is "just for fun". The Puzzle is a game to address this need, and we are offering it as a 1-hour facilitated game, or as a self-facilitated game for those who prefer to lead it themselves (or who are on a tighter budget).

Our team of 35, who were all sat at home due to the Coronavirus pandemic, had a fantastic hour-long session with Dan and Anna guiding us through The Puzzle. Teams were able to compete with (and against) the other 3 centres, and the challenge got everyone involved via the video breakout rooms, so even the smaller voices were heard. A very neat concept!

What is The Puzzle?

Teams must work together to solve a series of 10 individual puzzles that unlock the answer to a larger, master puzzle. It is played as a time-limited competition, with the team that solves the puzzle in the least amount of time, and with the fewest clues, being the winner.

The feedback we have received so far suggests we have found the right mix of fun and challenge, and a game that is just as well suited to a casual get together with colleagues as it is to the management team who want something to do before they get started with their day of meetings.

Whether you want to keep people engaged and motivated or are looking for a unique way to build relationships between team members - check out The Puzzle.
