Games to play with colleagues on Webex

Cisco Webex is one of the most popular video conferencing and communication platforms used by companies and organisations all over the world.

Many teams have been spending more time than ever on Webex , as it is a vital support for the remote and distributed work environment we find ourselves in today.

But it can be refreshing for you and your team to do something other than work together on Webex from time to time, as a way to engage and strengthen relationships, as well as have some fun!

Webex has a “Breakout Sessions” feature similar to Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet, which means you have the flexibility to play games in larger groups, whether they be collaborative or competitive.

Let’s have a look at some games and activities to play with your colleagues on Webex.

Fun games to play on Webex

Long Walks on the Beach

The curiously titled “Long Walks on the Beach” is a collaborative game designed for people to get to know each other better and is perfectly suited for Webex.

It can be really hard to find good ice breaker or relationship building activities and games that don’t make people cringe, but this game has been built with that front-of-mind.

The game involves 5 short activities completed in teams, with many including some sort of team problem solving that then facilitates discussion.

One person takes the lead on facilitating the experience for the group on Webex, with teams normally around 3-5 people. The facilitator just needs to share a link to a web page via the Webex chat for people to view the activities, so there are no downloads necessary.

The game is available as a self-hosted experience and be accessed alongside other social games for subscribers on Loumee.

An Online Scavenger Hunt

The Hunt is a team game and a completely different take on the idea of an online scavenger hunt.

As opposed to traditional scavenger hunts, where you look for certain things and complete many different tasks online, this game asks you to work together and solve a series of problems which will lead you to just one unique location.

The game can be played on Cisco Webex using the standard video conferencing features, including the breakout sessions.

The Hunt can be played as a facilitated experience or self-led, depending on your preference.

Teams are given a set amount of time to solve their way through the game and hopefully get that wonderful feeling when they find what they are looking for!

A Problem Solving Game

The Puzzle is a problem-solving game that is perfect to use as a team building exercise and works for groups of any size. Whether you have ten employees or one hundred and ten, The Puzzle is one of the most popular online games for companies.

You can use it as a Friday treat for your colleagues or integrate it as part of a team building day. It’s also a great way to celebrate birthdays or special occasions, like if your company hits its annual goals.

Your colleagues can work together to solve ten individual puzzle games, including riddles, crosswords, and visual tasks.

We can facilitate the game for you as a one-hour session, and we’ll manage everything, including setting up the Webex video call and breakout rooms.

The Puzzle has been played by more than 5000 teams and is a firm favourite for virtual work events.

You can play it on Webex by using screen sharing and breakout rooms. We recommend keeping your teams in groups of 4-5 to keep it inclusive and fun.

You can play The Puzzle using a web browser, meaning that your colleagues don’t have to worry about downloading software or an application beforehand.

Build Your Own Quiz

Everyone loves an interactive quiz. Why not get creative and create your own quiz?

The collaborative functions on Webex make it perfect for screen sharing a virtual quiz to include photographs and videos.

While this might take a little more organization on your part, it’s a great way of bonding with your colleagues.

You can keep it general with current affairs and pop culture questions or make it more niche. If you don’t fancy trying your hand at making a quiz with PowerPoint or Keynote, you can always use software like Kahoot to help.

You want to keep a time limit for each quiz, and make sure to include an incentive like a prize to keep everyone engaged.

If leading this yourself, your colleagues can send their answers over the private chat function on Webex or through a Google form.

A Riddle Game

The Riddle is the perfect choice for you if your colleagues enjoy a brain teaser or think of themselves as a wordsmith.

This social game will test your wits and give you ten interactive games to play, including problem-solving tasks. These online games are great for building your team bond via Webex while working remotely.

Webex is ideal for hosting The Riddle game as it’ll allow your colleagues to collaborate in small teams to solve all ten puzzles.

While this range of online games are great for bringing your team together on Webex while working remotely, there is no reason why you can’t also use them when the world returns to normal and you’re all back together again in the office!
